History

The Musical Arts Series began as a memorial concert for the late Shirley V. Hany, a local piano teacher who was also the wife and mother of musicians. The concert was so well received that it became a two-, then three-, then four-concert series. Eventually, the series morphed into the present Musical Arts Series Port Clinton in 2002.

Originally conceived as a classical music series with an emphasis on chamber ensembles, the series now includes folk, Celtic, and jazz groups in its annual offerings. However, the main thrust of MAS-PC remains the presentation of talented musicians playing a classical repertoire, with some new music in the classical tradition.

We have been pleased to present not only chamber music groups and solo artists from throughout the United States, but also groups from Europe and Asia. The Musical Arts Series Port Clinton continues to present classical music concerts in our community. We invite you to become part of our loyal audience, our illustrious history, and our vision for the future.
